Among the applications of Flexiverde® technology, selecting species with a broad shrub-like habit and pronounced vertical growth makes it possible to achieve green walls with significant volumetric impact, particularly suited to projects where the vegetation is meant to play a primary architectural role rather than a purely decorative one.
Flexiverde® modules provide a stable root environment and high water retention, conditions that support the development of a wide range of plant species, including those with more demanding root systems and growth habits.
The standard planting density is approximately 40 plants per square metre, in Ø9 cm pots, with a vertical spacing of 15 cm and horizontal spacing of 17 cm.
This planting pattern allows for layered plant compositions, combining fast-growing species with slower-growing, larger-habit species, so that surfaces gain volume and definition over time.
On-site planting also makes it possible to tailor the botanical selection to the specific conditions of the site – exposure, orientation, microclimate – according to the result required by the project.
The result is a green wall in which the vegetation carries significant volumetric weight within the architectural composition of the façade, giving designers a tool to shape the perception of mass and depth in vertical surfaces, as well as their overall aesthetic quality.
